SÔNG NÚI ĐỢI

sông núi đợi em hoa cũng đợi
từng làn hơi thở mướt vành môi
từng thân thấm vị say nguồn biếc
từng giấc ngủ hồng như gió khơi
 
sông núi hẹn em ngàn kiếp lận
mở hồn từng giọt ấm vừa ngân
mở lòng đón nhận mùa mưa nắng
mở cánh ngang trời xoá trắng vân

người bên người nuôi dưỡng trăm con
nửa dòng Lạc Việt còn cao vọng
nửa đất nguyên màu nắng vực trong
 
sông núi đợi tình thơm áo tối
đợi thân đau tản mát quanh đời
đợi dòng xao xuyến xa vời vợi
đợi cả chân trời ngây ngất vơi.

MOUNTAINS WAITED

rivers and mountains waited for you, also the flowers

through every breath, smoothing your lips

through every stage of intoxication at the blue source

through each pink sleep as the wind flew. 

 

rivers and mountains dated you for a thousand lifetimes

opening their souls with warm and vibrant droplets

opening their hearts with rainy and sunny seasons

opening their wings across the sky, whitening the clouds.

 

rivers and mountains hosted at wide citadels

people with people nurturing a hundred ethnicities

half-stream Lac Viet with high spirit

half of the land kept full of sunshine.

 

rivers and mountains waited for the fragrance of love

waited for mournful members scattered around life

waited for the distant diaspora at separate borders

waited also for the horizon to languish in emptiness.
